navalny investigation
The latest investigation by Russia’s opposition leader Alexei Navalny and his Anti-Corruption Foundation uncovering the wealth of Russia’s former President and currently Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev raises many questions. Not only about Prime Minister’s wealth, which includes villas, yachts, vineyards acquired through “people close to Medvedev”, as the investigation report claims, but also about the actual aim of the investigation, the choice of topic and the tone, leave alone the source of funding of Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Foundation which has never been disclosed. It seems that in Russia, the opposition continues to target the incumbents rather than focusing on its own agenda (if any?) and the ways and means of bringing changes in Russia, not only political, but economical and social.
